Russian Language Course

Summer School language intensives are conducted in small groups of up to 8 students. The 140 contact hour classes span over 8 weeks, with 3-4 hours every day. The content of the program is tailored to the students’ needs and demands. Our instructors are highly qualified professionals with more than 5 years of teaching experience. Though our main teaching strategy is through immersion, most instructors might explain intricate grammatical material in English and provide grammatical parallels from other languages, in order to make the instruction more transparent and efficient.
We provide courses for different levels, which incorporate elements of phonetics, grammar, conversational practice, literary reading, and language of mass media. The courses combine elements of academic instruction, language games, and theater. Besides general language courses, we can organize specialized courses for intermediate and advanced students upon demand, e.g. Business Russian, Language of Mass Media, Contemporary Cinema and others.
Our main teaching principle is communicational, aided by active Russian peer interaction and after-class support system through student teaching assistance. However, we also efficiently utilize computer and Web technologies. Many homework assignments can be completed online, through interactive “playgrounds”. We provide weekly quizzes and an end-of-the-course test to ensure motivation. The students can also complete a project or stage a theater performance, depending on their choice.
